Lovely stylish flat in such a great position within the old walled city. Entry to the old town is via a barrier. We rung our host when we arrived and he met us and directed us to the free parking in the town square. It was a short work to the flat from there. At night Guimares is so pretty as the buildings are lit with Fairy lights. We ate in a wonderful restaurant just round the corner - the chic and modern 'Historic'. The steaks we ordered were to die for. We sat in the court yard and listened to a guitarist sing and play chill out music til late. Amazing night. The owners of the flat were incredibly helpful and friendly and their office is just under the flat should you need them. The property has been decorated in a light modern way with two spacious bedrooms and a lounge/kitchen/diner. The shower room was a little small but this flat is a converted old townhouse. Our lovely breakfast was bought to us in the morning in a wooden box and contained EVERYTHING for a hearty breakfast (yogurts, fresh croissants, fresh fruit and more). Coffee or tea from the machine in the kitchen. Comfy beds and all spotlessly clean. Before leaving we took the cable car up the 'mountain' to the Park area at the top and to see the view and the weird natural rock formations. There is a Church and cafe up there too and you could spend half a day wandering around the path ways (some are steep) thru the park and woods. Loved it. Everything about our stay was exceptional.
